but first up, lets find out what E3 is all about

E3 is arguably the biggest private gaming event in worlds history. It happens every year always taking place in America, this year being located in los Angeles.

this event mainly covers new releases and up and coming triple A games, triple A games meaning the biggest main stream, money making games out there.

Bethesda, 2K, EA, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony are just a few of the top big names that will be attending this years event.

the event will take place from June 16th to June 18th at the Los Angeles convention center.

for three exciting days, leading edge companies, ground breaking new technologies and never before seen products will be showcased. E3 is an event to connect you with both new and existing partners and provides exposure to emerging markets.

Unfortunately for all you game geeks out there this event is invite only, but be sure to check the news regularly as soon after articles and videos will be available online from the event so you wont miss completely out.

if your lucky enough to have been invited to E3 here are some things you may need to know. (Pause) if you are under 17 you will not be allowed in the event and photo ID will be required.

the E3 badge that you will get given is to be worn at all times and is non-transferable. Also no photography or videography is permitted through out these 3 days on the show floors.

Sometimes there can be a lag time off the phone as you wait for new questions to come in but now maximo cavazzani, the developer of crack told us this is no longer to be with the watch.. you can answer the questions as soon as they come up

The Games Corner has a NRS social grade of C1, D & E which means viewers have very little disposable income. This is due to SLTV only being aimed at the people living in certain deprived areas around Sheffield City Centre. 

Hi my name is Mason and I'm 17 years old and in my first year at college. I do Media Studies, Graphic Design and Maths at A Level and really enjoy each subject. Media Studies includes lots of different units one of them including a games design unit in which we had to create our own game idea and then pitch it to a local Sheffield Games Production team. I loved this unit. Yes from what you may have gathered I'm a huge gaming geek. I'm Obsessed. I buy all the latest games for my Xbox One and as soon as I get in from college each day play at least 2 hours online. Its good because I have Xbox Live and so can play online with my friends an talk to them through a microphone whilst playing. I live in Sheffield towards Ecclesall road which is a nice journey into the town center each day to attend college. In the summer I go to Endcliffe Park a lot with my friends to play football or rounders. As well as gaming I do love outdoor activities and being in the fresh air. 
Money is one problem I have as a teenager, but seriously what teenager doesn't have money issues. My Parents give me £20 each week as pocket money for when I go out and need food or clothes ect so sometimes if a new game is coming out it can take me up to 4 weeks to save for it which is depressing sometimes. I have recently found out that Sheffield Live TV! are launching a gaming show called Games Corner which I will definitely be watching religiously.  I love hearing to people's opinions of games and seeing what they rate them.  I also want to go to a gaming convention in the summer such as Play Expo and I've heard that the guys at Games Corner have an episode based all around it so I'll be watching and seeing how good they thought it was!  Also, the new section that they have will inform me of any upcoming gaming nights and events which I'm really interested in attending.​

LO2: Initial Ideas

 

MAGAZINE STYLE NEWS:

The Games Corner news section will be a magazine in terms of the style and format. It will include lots of different segments including new releases,  interviews, popular games and events similar to programmes such as News Round.

LO2: The Brief

This is the brief which was send to me by Jasmine Sahv and Vicky Kilby who are both working for Sheffield Live TV. Jasmine is one of the production assistants for Sheffield Live TV and Vicky is one of the presenters on The Games Corner. Working with both these people will give me some good work experience for the media industry. 
Harry, Lewis and I will be creating our 5 minute script for week 5 of The Games Corner on April 17th 2015. 

LO2: Group

For this project I will be working with Harry Swallow and Lewis Leversidge to create the news script for week 5. We will split the roles so that Harry Swallow does the research, I will write the script and Lewis will help us both in making sure we both complete our tasks, and everything along side grammar and content is suitable.
